Lamborghini Concept S Cake Tutorial 21/11/2011
So, I was contracted to do a sports car cake, nothing fancy I was assured, but then came the picture of what this car should look like. It was the Lamborghini Concept S car, not even manufactured, just a concept from the clever people at Lamborghini. Here is the picture that was originally sent to me. To start off with, I Googled, and searched for all posible angles of this car, to make sure that I knew exactly what it should look like. I decided to do the car out of Cereal Treats, which is a product that can easily be moulded and carved to any shape. So below I will show you in detail with pictures, how to make this car cake. I started off by printing a template of the Lamborghini Concept S Car in A3. I made the cereal treats and then moulded and carved it into the required shape using my template I then marked with an edible pen where more carving needs to be done, i.e. the interior, the wheels and all other trimmings on the body of the car After completing all the necessary carving and shaping, I covered the interior in black fondant (rollable icing) Now the exterior is covered with white fondant. Exterior being airbrushed with Red Edible Colouring. Completely Airbrushed Model All interior and exterior trimming where modelled using self coloured fondant and left to dry. Dashboard added to interior Interior details and windows added Exterior trimmings i.e. door handles, tyres, mirrors, and lights added. The windows where brushed with a lustre dust to give the shiny effect. And here is the finished car cake. The birthday cake was a moist double chocolate cake with buttercream. Happy birthday Shakeel, I hope you loved this cake as much as I loved making it!
